  • The Business Excellence Awards are open to all licensed businesses and organizations based in Revelstoke, including companies, non-profits, and community-focused enterprises. Nominees may be asked to provide proof of a valid business license upon request.

    Review the criteria below before submitting your nomination. Nominations that do not meet the requirements may not advance to the next stage.

    • Multiple Categories: Businesses or organizations may be nominated in more than one category, but only one nominee per category per nominator will be accepted.

    • Years in Operation: Nominees must have been in operation for at least three (3) years, except for the Rising Star, Technology & Innovation, Employee of the Year, and Citizen of the Year awards.

    • Past Winners: Businesses or organizations cannot win the same category more than once within a three-year period but may still be nominated. Click here for past winners.

    • Chamber Staff & Board: Chamber staff and current Chamber Board Directors are not eligible for individual awards but can still be nominated as part of a business or organization.

    • Employee of the Year Eligibility: Nominees for the Employee of the Year award must be employed by a business or organization. Self-employed individuals, independent contractors are not eligible for this specific award.

    • Nominee Follow-Up: All nominees will be contacted and asked to complete a short follow-up questionnaire to support the selection process.

    • Nominator Consent: You will be asked to consent to your nomination being shared with the nominee (with your name kept confidential). If you do not consent, please leave blank.

  • For over 30 years, the Business Excellence Awards (BEAs) have celebrated the dedication, hard work, and success of the people, businesses, and organizations that positively define our vibrant business community. Whether you’re a Chamber member or not, the BEAs honour everyone who contributes to making Revelstoke a thriving place to live, work, and play. Learn more about the BEAs below.

    Behind the Scenes. Fueled by the passion and dedication of our team, partners, sponsors, and the community at large. Planning begins immediately after the last event—often while we’re tearing down and cleaning up from the night. We learn from each year’s experience, planting the seeds for new, innovative ideas that we nurture and develop through the year. We’re never not thinking “BEAs”.

    Nominations. Nominations are open to the public. Submissions are carefully vetted for eligibility, and in some cases, reassigned to appropriate categories in collaboration with the nominators to ensure every submission is included.

    Selection Process. After nominations close, nominees are notified and asked to complete a detailed questionnaire. These, along with the nominations, are then reviewed by a neutral Selection Committee (SC) composed of carefully selected or recommended business and community leaders who not get chosen until after the nominations close to ensure a balanced approach to the judging process. Once the SC has reviewed the information, we meet with them to discuss the nominations, conduct a collaborative vote to determine finalists, and then hold an anonymous vote to select the winners. The Chamber does not have a vote; our role is to simply guide the discussion, ensure decisions are based on award criteria, and to manage any conflicts of interest or tie-breaking. Once all is said and done, results are kept strictly confidential until the awards ceremony—not even the SC or the Chamber team (except those directly involved) know who won.

    The Party. The BEAs are known for being a great time—they sell out every year, and rumor has it, they’re one of the best galas in town! More than just our biggest annual fundraising event, they’re a night of networking, recognition, camaraderie, and celebration. They’re an opportunity to connect with fellow business leaders, reflect on your hard work and achievements, and most importantly, celebrate!
